Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Assistant Manager to oversee our food service operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering high-quality food and service. This role involves managing the dietary department, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and providing exceptional dining experiences for our guests. If you have a background in restaurant management, food preparation, or catering, we would love to hear from you.
This position is primarily 2-10 p.m., 40-50 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the food service department, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food quality.
- Oversee food preparation and production processes to maintain consistency and adherence to recipes.
- Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining stock levels to ensure smooth operations.
- Develop menus that cater to diverse dietary needs while adhering to nutritional guidelines.
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to foster a positive work environment and enhance team performance.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards in all food handling practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate catering services for events and special occasions.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements based on guest satisfaction surveys.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service management or a related field such as restaurant management or hospitality management.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and catering services.
- Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
- Familiarity with dietary restrictions and nutrition guidelines is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with staff, guests, and vendors.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
