    Human Resources Specialist (Cooper Green) - (UAB000V9) Description

    Compensation: $ $26.80/hour

    GENERAL SUMMARY

    Performs Human Resources (HR) related duties at the professional level for support staff level positions to include: employment, employee relations, benefits, payroll, human resource information systems and training. Under minimal supervision, maintains personnel records, administrative databases, and provide assistance with departmental fiscal management. Serves as the first point of contact for the human resources department. Partners all HR functional areas to communicate, interpret, and implement human resources policies, procedures, laws, and governmental regulations. Responsible for coordination of Human Resources special projects.

    KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:

    First line of contact for all HR questions- Answers basic human resources questions and resolves routine issues.

    Maintains adequate stock of supplies for HR office.

    Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

    Assists with special projects as assigned to facilitate a smooth operation of the department for staff and visitors.

    Assist with facilitating recruitment for vacant positions.

    Employee reward/ recognition program

    Assist with departmental fiscal management to include invoicing.

    Draft and interpret contracts and agreements.

    For the Director and special projects related to Human Resources, arranges meetings and conferences, schedules appointments and performs other duties related to maintaining schedules.

    May be responsible for statistical analysis and/or reports for the director.

    Manage and update HR databases.

    Serves as back-up for onboarding administration.

    Screens telephone calls and greets visitors to the department; route calls and directs visitors to appropriate staff; sets appointments and maintain the calendars for a human resources management program.

    Enters, updates, and retrieves information from various automated human resources and/or payroll systems.

    Prepare, manage, and maintain employee personnel filing system and manages and maintains all operations of the document scanning system,

    Prepares or revises job descriptions.

    Prepares routine human resources correspondence and reports.

    Performs other duties assigned by the Director of HR

    Qualifications

    Required:

    High School diploma or GED and three (3) years responsible administrative support experience. Computer experience, organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to manage a large workload with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and able to meet deadlines. Applicants may be required to demonstrate knowledge of personnel documents as part of the interview process.

    Preferred:

    Previous records management/imaging experience preferably in Human Resources. Prior experience working with confidential information.

    SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR
