    Summary:


    The Senior Electrical Controls Design Engineer is responsible for engineering, designing, and integrating control applications into automation equipment, tooling, fixtures, and gages.

    Will assist applications with customer concepts when required. They will also work with Mechanical Engineering and Project Management to ensure Micros customer design specifications are satisfied. The Senior Electrical Controls Design Engineer will report to the Director of Engineering.

    Job Responsibilities
    Proficient in AutoCAD for designing electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
    Interpret mechanical drawings to ensure correct controls and hardware implementation
    Research and evaluate assembly components from suppliers to enhance future machine builds.
    Contribute to establishing and maintaining standards for design processes.
    Develop electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic bills of materials.
    Configure power systems and hardware according to application specifications.
    Collaborate closely with both controls and mechanical build technicians during assembly.
    Work with application engineers to develop concepts and accurate quotes based on customer specifications.
    Design systems and software applications that meet or exceed customer requirements.
    Troubleshoot issues with existing systems installed at customer facilities.
    Generate comprehensive documentation for system start-up, troubleshooting, and recommended maintenance.
    Participate in Requirement Reviews, Factory Acceptance Testing, and Site Acceptance Testing.
    Provide detailed and timely status updates on projects.
    Ensure adherence to standards in highly regulated, process-driven environments.
    Contribute to training and onboarding of new employees.


    Qualification Requirements:
    BA/BS degree in Engineering or related discipline (BSEE degree preferred).
    5+ years of experience in the automation industry, post-degree.
    Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites on occasion if necessary.
    Proficient in Design/Drafting Tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
    Proficient in developing software for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
    Configuring and designing HMI/OIT systems (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, National Instruments, Maple Systems).
    Familiar with Industry Standards, NEC, NFPA, UL, and CE.
    Familiar with Vision Systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence).
    Familiar with various Motion Controllers/Actuators (e.g., Allen-Bradley Kinetix, Siemens Simotion, IAI, Yasakawa).
    Familiar with Robotic Systems (e.g., Fanuc, Epson, Yamaha, Staubli).
    Experience and skill in troubleshooting control system issues.

    General Skills/Qualifications:
    MS Office 2010 (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy.
    U.S. Citizen or Green Card.
