    Overview


    We are seeking a hands-on Project Manager to support major Power CapEx/construction projects from design, permitting, and through construction execution. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments and can bring structure, discipline, and delivery rigor to first-of-kind or early commercial facilities. This Project Manager role requires both leadership skills and technical competencies and experience across a broad range of technical disciplines. This position is remote and may work across all time zones throughout the US, although primarily Mountain or Central Time. Qualified candidates must meet the minimum requirements and be fully authorized to work in the United States, without requiring visa sponsorship or C2C status.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Lead Power CapEx projects from early planning and Front End Loading (FEL) through construction, commissioning, and handover
    • Establish project controls, governance, and execution plans in a developing organization
    • Manage Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partners delivering $100MM+ capital projects
    • Own scope, schedule, cost, and risk using classical project management practices
    • Interface with investors, partners, regulators, and technical teams to drive alignment and decisions
    • Demonstrate strong project management skills and knowledge of contract types and project strategies involving the design and construction of industrial facilities
    • Maintain integration and communication across distributed teams without direct authority over all resources
    • Understand complex problems and ensure efficient use of resources to deliver project results
    • Demonstrate safety leadership, integrity, accountability, and transparency while upholding standards, values, and culture
    • Document and apply lessons learned for continuous process improvement
    • Ensure the project's economic model is accurate, weighing risks and validating inputs
    • Collaborate across functions such as Geology, Land, Business Development
    • Develop and apply the project playbook and best practices toolkit
    • Assist in managing vendor, supplier, and service providers

    Requirements


    Desired Skills & Experience

    • Proven Project and/or Program Management experience utilizing PM methodology and tools, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, risk management, stakeholder management, and/or procurement
    • Minimum of 10+ years in the oil and gas industry in project, program management or consulting capacity
    • Direct experience leading $100MM+ Power CapEx projects (generation facilities, transmission lines, power plants, data centers, gas pipelines or similar infrastructure)
    • Leadership experience to manage and drive projects through full life cycle from scope to delivery
    • Strong individual contributor experience in an oil and gas environment
    • Understand safe design principles, process safety concepts, and exhibit personal safety leadership
    • Ability to integrate, align and motivate a team of people across a common project mission
    • Strong communication skills, setting priorities, delegation, and performance management of both internal and external resources
    • Comfort with pace and with managing multiple competing priorities with confidence and professionalism
    • Ability to develop and deliver a complex set of objectives; set high standards and lead the team to deliver results
    • Comfort operating with ambiguity and building processes where they do not yet exist
    • Strong CPM scheduling, cost control, and change management skills
    • Experience with contract development, contractor management and project contract strategies
    • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and able to use digital tools to improve project performance
    • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and work independently or as part of a team
    • Advanced interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills, as well as attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field along with business acumen
    • Must have experience managing $100MM+ worth of capital management, particularly in Power projects
    • MBA is helpful, but not required
    • PMP or PMI certification is preferred

    Compensation


    For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado, Sand Cherry Associates is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and delivery model. This is a longer term consulting engagement, with an expected 6 months+ duration. This role has an annual salary range of $135,000 - $165,000. Years of experience, level of education, geographic location, unique skills/qualifications for the specific role and potential certifications can be key factors in the final compensation for this role.
