Norwalk based CPG client is adding to their Technical Accounting team at the Manager level. Excellent opportunity for a big4 candidate to transition out of Audit OR a technical accountant with previous big4 experience to move into a Manager role

Manager, Technical Accounting


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create, post or review journal entries
Review GL on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy of postings
Reconcile GL accounts
Analyze financial performance related to internal (management) and external (public) monthly/quarterly reporting
Create financial statements and footnote support for public and regulatory filings
Manage the impairment testing process of indefinite-lived and long-lived assets
Reporting of legal entity transactions, reorganizations (including divestitures and acquisitions)
Financial statement review for statutory reporting of subsidiaries, reviewing financial data filing reconciling items for appropriateness
Partner with IT & Global Business Services on process change management related to financial system integrations with SAP reporting
Assist with simplifying/redesigning month end close processes as well as other process improvement projects, including updates to policies and procedures
Partner with Business Planning and Forecasting departments on income statement analysis, developing budgets, tracking expenses, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
Ensure adherence to SOX requirements, internal control procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles
Work with internal and external auditors on document requests
Participate in special projects as requested by management


REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
2+ years of experience within public accounting
7+ years of overall experience (to include working with/at a large company on multi-currency/consolidations)
