Job Title: Special Education Teacher

Location: Seaford, Virginia

Position Type: Full-time (2 positions available), 37.5 hours per week

Position 1: Middle School Inclusion Classroom

• Grade Levels: 6th-8th
• Classroom Type: Inclusion
• Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and accommodations for students with special needs in a general education setting.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Implement evidence-based instructional strategies to address diverse learning needs.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed.

Position 2: K-2 Behavior Support Classroom/Self-contained

• Grade Levels: Kindergarten-2nd grade
• Classroom Type: Behavior Support/Self-contained
• Responsibilities:
  • Create a positive and structured learning environment for students with behavioral challenges.
  • Develop and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to address individual student needs.
  • Provide direct instruction in academic subjects and social skills development.
  • Collaborate with support staff and parents to implement consistent behavior management strategies.

Requirements:

• Valid Virginia teaching license with endorsement in Special Education.
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and behavioral challenges.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to differentiate instruction.
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Pay: $30-37 per hour (commensurate with experience)
