- Provide direct individual or small group instruction to identified students on a regularly scheduled basis as required in the IEP.
- Collaborate with other personnel working with identified students.
- Participate in developing and implementing Individual Educational Plans for students who qualify for speech/language services, either with the IEP team or as a primary case manager.
- Implement and monitor IEP of students who qualify for speech/language services.
- Screen, assess, and provide specialized speech and language services to students who qualify for services through an IEP or meet the designated criteria for general education speech improvement groups.
- Consult with school personnel and parents.
- Develop instructional materials and strategies for special education students in an inclusive, mainstream classroom.
- Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Albert Einstein Academies' mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual/Biliterate-English/Spanish (desired, not required)
- Strong presentation abilities including the ability to explain specialized information to others in clear, simple terms.
- Experience in assessment and analysis of assessment data
- Strong problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
- Ability to thrive in a rigorous environment; flexible, able to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed
- Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred
- Valid California SLP Services credential
- 2+ years as a Speech and Language Therapist, educational setting preferred
- Proficiency with Google Docs/Drive and Gmail
- Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations.
- Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit on the ground on carpet for extended period of time.
- Ability to lift and move and carry objects of up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to see for purposes of reading correspondence, documents and printed matter and observing students.
- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
- Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation.
