    Description

    Cocoon House Advocates work with at-risk and homeless youth ages 12-25 years old. Advocates engage street-dependent youth through street outreach and youth-driven, goal-based case management. An advocate should expect to:

    • Work flexible hours, typically (but not always) between 9am-7pm, Monday-Friday, for a total of forty hours a week.
    • Provide youth driven case management for 25-30 at-risk or homeless youth, ages
    • Provide youth ages 18-25 with case management/support services while in young adult shelter.
    • Build a network of agencies and resources in both their identified geographic location and in general throughout Snohomish County and the Puget Sound region.
    • Provide general support to the functioning of programs, including performing weekly Street Outreach, being part of Cocoon House's Safe Place on-call rotation, and helping to cover shifts in other programs.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Full-Time: Monday-Friday | On-site in Everett & Throughout Snohomish County

    Wage: $21-$22.50/hr |+$1.50/hr pay differential for multi-lingual skillswith additional paperwork

    • Outreach & Networking

    o Providing hands-on daily outreach to street dependent youth in Snohomish County, and promoting Cocoon House services through community outreach and presentations. Consistently working on the development of networks and services specific to their geographic area and Snohomish County in general.

    • Case Management
      • Providing case management for 25-30 youth ages 12-25 years old throughout Snohomish County. Collecting prompt and accurate data required for case management files, surveys, youth stories, etc. Providing youth-driven, strength-based case management based on positive youth development, focusing on assistance with employment, education, housing, substance abuse, medical care and legal needs.
    • Documentation & Communication
      • Will be available and responsive to emails and phone calls during expected business hours. Will be held accountable for accurate reporting of duties performed and services provided through both paper documentation and online database entry. Will work positively and cooperatively as part of the entire Services Department and Cocoon House agency. Will promptly communicate to the Program Supervisor and/or Director of Services regarding any gaps in meeting expectations and supports needed by Cocoon House clients.
