    Salary Range:

    Under the direction of the technical supervisor and medical director, the Ultrasound Technologist I demonstrates competency and proficiency in all skills required to perform level I routine ultrasound procedures as defined by department protocols.


    • All technologists utilize independent judgment and the required knowledge to obtain high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images.
    • The Technologist competently evaluates the technical quality of the images obtained prior to submitting them to the interpreting radiologist.
    • They educate the patient/family about the procedure and report all changes in the patient's status, including initiating emergency response if required.
    • They accurately document patient information in the appropriate hospital systems.
    • Hospital-based positions may require call responsibility and rotation to hospital-adjacent imaging center locations.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Education and Experience


    • Associate's degree or higher.
    • Graduate of an ARDMS-approved ultrasound program. A minimum of one year of experience is preferred but will consider new grads.
    • Hospital/OP Imaging locations only: Experience may be considered in lieu of education if licensure and certification requirements are met.
    • Graduate of a Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs approved program (exception for programs completed prior to 1994).
    Certifications Required


    • BLS
    • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered in one or more specialties
