    We are on the lookout for dedicated Progressive Care Unit RNs to join our team for an exciting travel nursing opportunity in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate should have at least 1-2 years of recent acute care experience. Check out the qualifications below:

    As a PCU Travel Nurse, you will be responsible for providing specialized care to patients who require close monitoring and frequent assessments, but do not need ICU level care. PCU RNs utilize advanced computer equipment to monitor vital signs and detect any changes, allowing for prompt intervention in critical situations. This role involves closely observing patients who often receive complex medications, some of which may be administered intravenously and require careful adjustment. In the healthcare industry, PCU nurses are often referred to as step-down nurses, working in units such as cardiac stepdown, medical stepdown, neuro stepdown, surgical stepdown, and ER holding.

    As a PCU Travel Nurse, your tasks will include:

    • Providing essential bedside care and stabilizing critical cardiac patients.
    • Performing procedures like changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs.
    • Administering prescribed medications, monitoring patient responses, and reporting any adverse reactions.
    • Operating and adjusting specialized medical equipment, as well as interpreting electronic displays.
    • Taking immediate action in response to any abnormal readings from monitoring devices.
    PCU Travel Nurses should have the physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift patients while maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment. The ability to lift up to 20 pounds, and occasionally 50 pounds, is essential for this role. Additionally, successful PCU RNs possess strong stress management skills and can effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and age groups.

    Key Requirements*: ACLS, BLS, 2 Years of Experience
