    ABOUT THE ROLE


    We are looking for a skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join the technology team, focusing on data governance and data quality initiatives.

    The firm sees data as a valuable strategic asset and data management capabilities as key differentiator for sustained business success.

    The successful candidate will partner with the Data Management function and be responsible for implementing tools, frameworks & data quality checks to improve the reliability, discoverability, efficiency, and quality of data across the organization.

    This role is for someone who is passionate about data and understands the discipline and commitment required to improve and sustain data quality across a complex business domain.

    Your mandate will entail the creation, implementation, and vigilant oversight of data governance frameworks

    that include data catalogs, data lineage, and data quality as the core pillars.

    You will be responsible for onboarding of data products and firms data assets to the data governance platform, and then maintaining and keeping them up to speed.

    You will work with the data team and application engineers to identify and implement source system checks & process improvements where needed.


    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE


    Development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-wide data governance technologies, with a focus on improving data quality, data lineage and data discoverability.

    Implement data-related standards, policies, procedures, and architectures in alignment with Central Data Governance teams strategic objectives.

    Implement technology tools and frameworks for tracking data quality, using key data quality metrics defined by Central Data Governance team in conjunction with data domain owners.

    Design and implement data quality (DQ) rules to be integrated into DQ framework.
    Creation of checks in source systems and data pipelines to ensure data quality and clean data flow.

    Implement technology solutions to define and track key performance indicators for data quality, data governance processes, and tools to report on them in an automated manner.

    Provide necessary tooling and systems support to the data team as they perform data governance activities

    Work with various data team and various application teams as needed to evaluate, redesign, and reimplement data and process flows as needed.


    QUALIFICATIONS

    Must-Have:
    Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
    A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a data engineer or in a similar role (SQL, Python, etc.)
    Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.)
    Solid understanding of data governance principles and practices.
    Knowledge of a Data Catalog, Data Lineage, and Data Quality frameworks
    Prior experience with Data governance tools such as Atlan, Collibra, Alation, Manta, etc. is highly desired.
    Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    Takes ownership and pride in end-to-end delivery of projects and initiatives.
    Comfort with a data-intensive and high transaction volume environment
    Deadline-driven mindset

    Nice-to-have:

    Prior experience in Finance and Asset management domain is a plus.
    Prior experience with Snowflake and DBT is a plus
    Hands-on experience building and optimizing big data pipelines, architectures, and data sets is a plus
    Hands-on experience with AWS and familiarity with services such as S3, RDS, Redshift, Athena, EC2, Lambda, and Glue is a plus
