Gridiron IT is seeking a Telecom Engineer local to Washington, DC.


Job Description:

Our team is looking for a qualified VoIP network engineer to oversee the installation and management of our client's VoIP network.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and deploying enterprise solution architecture, coordinating installations and migrations, and managing SLAs for IP telephony applications.

You may also be required to troubleshoot LAN and WAN hardware systems and respond to customer inquiries.

To ensure success as a VoIP network engineer in this position, you should have advanced knowledge of VoIP networking systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and knowledge of internet security (nice to have).

You should be able to design and deploy a networking system to meet the current and future networking needs of our client.

Responsibilities:
Meeting with IT managers to determine the company's networking needs.
Meeting with Stakeholders to determine requirement, constraints, current environment and future state.
Analyzing existing VoIP networks and computer systems.
Developing architecture plans for voice and data services.
Installing network hardware modules including IP and PBX communication servers.
Designing, implementing, and administering Cisco Call manager and Unity connection systems.
Develop architecture plans for voice services and prepare appropriate budgets and specifications for projects.
Coordinate with technicians and perform installation and migrations of various technology solutions within the network.
Coordinate with vendors, analyze appropriate product offering and develop an efficient and effective solution for the network.
Troubleshooting VoIP network issues.
Analyzing and upgrading network security systems and protocols.
Optimizing network installations for future expansion (as needed).Monitor all customer inquiries and ensure appropriate resolution of same.
Education and Training of staff on network and system protocols (as needed).


Requirements:
Previous experience working as a VoIP network engineer.
In-depth knowledge of VoIP systems, data, and voice circuits (SIP, PRI), IP and VOIP Protocols.
Knowledge of hardware systems including servers, memory modules, processors, and peripherals.

• Detailed knowledge of network security systems and software.

Can work on your own with little to no hand holding and/or in a team environment.
Familiarity with WAN and LAN systems.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills.


Education/Experience:
Master's Degree or Advanced Degree or

Expert Level Certifications:
Minimum 10 years' experience Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) - Collaboration Avaya Certified Expert (ACE)

Must be a US Citizen

Must obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Must be prepared to work onsite 75% to 100% of the time.
