- Processes material through treatment by counting material to be treated into charges, enters information into the computer system, selects treating cycle, and begins treatment.
- Drills each charge to check for penetration of preservative, retention of preservative, and judges samples against set standards.
- Records test results and maintains ledger with sample/test information.
- Posts each charge into the computer inventory database system.
- Monitors efficiency of treating schedules.
- Checks solution in work tanks once per shift, collects samples, and runs tests.
- Logs solution test results into the ledger and makes necessary adjustments.
- Works in coordination with the plant manager to track treating recipes, expenses, and any adjustments needed in the treating process.
- Maintains housekeeping in the work area.
- Troubleshoots equipment problems and/or breakdowns.
- Assists in picking up and stacking lumber and other materials as needed.
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Three to six months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Lumber experience is a plus
