    Title: Data Scientist

    Contract Period: 3-months

    Contract: Contract-to-Hire

    Schedule: Hybrid – 3 in office, 2 work from home

    Summary

    Responsible for building data products and solutions that support major corporate initiatives throughout the company. This role will join a growing team of Data Scientists focused on areas such as: route optimization, forecasting future work demand, and leveraging supervised or unsupervised machine learning to solve other key business needs. This role will collaborate with internal Data Scientists, business SMEs and communicate results to non-technical audiences.

    Responsibilities for the role:

    • machine learning and statistical methods to solve business problems.
    • clear documentation that other technical team members can follow.
    • well-structured code that implements software engineering best practices.
    • with business stakeholders to prioritize and engineer new features for data products.
    • communicate progress or challenges to product owners throughout each sprint.
    • testing best practices before committing code to production environments.
    • and maintain codebases using standard version control and GIT principles.
    • basic MLOps principles to deploy and monitor model performance in production.
    • detailed exploratory analysis to support or justify your hypotheses.

    Required Skills the candidate must have:

    • degree in a quantitative discipline: Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
    • of 2 year of experience working as a Data Scientist or in a related field.
    • with SQL and relational or schema-less (NoSQL) databases.
    • with programming languages: Python, JavaScript, R, MATLAB, etc.
    • with cloud technologies: Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure, or related tools.
    • ability to work collaboratively within a team to solve complex problems.
    • applying statistical, ML or other predictive models to real world problems.
    • version control experience, especially working within a collaborative team.

    Preferred Skills we would like the candidate to have:

    Experience working within the Utility Industry.
