Austin Pathways provides a broad range of service coordination for public housing and Project-Based Rental Assistant (PBRA) residents with four pillars of service delivery, including youth education, workforce development, digital inclusion, and health and wellness.

    Job position summary: Responsible for developing and delivering a broad range of service coordination for public housing and Project-Based Rental Assistance (PBRA) residents across Austin Pathways' four pillars of service delivery. Holistic, wraparound onsite services; and achievement of sustainable, adaptable systems. Encourages and supports residents' transition to self-sufficiency by developing and supporting site-based community activities for the development(s) to which he or she is assigned - including relevant workshops and trainings. Develops subject matter expertise across Austin Pathways' four pillars of support and takes the lead in coordinating those services and partnerships across properties.

    Summary of Essential Functions:

    • Serves as the point person for sharing programming information with residents and other staff from Austin Pathways and the Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA).
    • Performs a variety of tasks involving planning, implementing, and monitoring supportive service activities, including documenting and reporting program results.
    • Responsible for maintaining a caseload of approximately 25-50 households with a focus on service coordination. Achieving Austin Pathways identified output and outcome benchmarks and departmental goals and metrics.
    • Ensure that an Individual Training and Services Plan (ITSP) is prepared for the head of the FSS family and each adult member of the FSS family who elects to participate in the FSS program.
    • Build partnerships with employers, nonprofits, and service providers in the community and work with the Program Coordinating Committee (PCC) and with such local service providers to ensure that FSS program participants are linked to the supportive services they need to achieve self-sufficiency, including services for participants with limited English proficiency.
    • Monitors and supports partnerships with outside agencies and leverages available resources to support residents' self-sufficiency efforts.
    • Works with the FSS team in planning of workshops, webinars, graduation ceremonies, and trainings for FSS participants. Collaborates with other Austin Pathways and HACA staff in the management of events and overall program activities
    • Responsible for assessing the self-sufficiency needs of residents in assigned communities.

    Qualification and Knowledge:

    Required: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Business Administration, Public Administration, or similar from an accredited college or university and two years' experience with a public agency or social services agency, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Service coordination experience. Working knowledge of HUD rules and regulations.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of community and supportive resources related to social services and community/workforce development.
    • Ability to interact with persons from diverse backgrounds, including Public Housing residents and representatives from local agencies and organizations who provide services to Public Housing residents.
    • Ability to address the public and present information in a clear, concise and convincing manner. Ability to deal effectively with situations that require tact and diplomacy, yet firmness.
    • Ability to adhere to project deadlines, attendance, and punctuality. Ability to provide the highest level of customer service. Bondable. Valid Texas Driver's License, Eligible for coverage under Housing Authority fleet auto insurance.
