JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSEPerforms surgery scheduling duties, as well as prior authorization, coding and general office duties.DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONThe Pulmonology team of pulmonologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, care coordinators and back office staff provide a full-spectrum of pulmonology care.
We provide services such as pulmonary function tests, bronchoscopy and lung biopsies, surgical evaluations, and diagnosis and treatment of a variety of diseases such as bronchitis, lung cancer, and emphysema.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Post-secondary courses in Medical Terminology, computer applications and secretarial skills, or equivalent required.
Experience and/or training in a hospital or medical office doing similar tasks preferred.
Experience and/or training in reception or a customer service setting required.
Experience and/or training with delegated health care services and ICD-10 and CPT coding required.
