    JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSEPerforms surgery scheduling duties, as well as prior authorization, coding and general office duties.

    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONThe Pulmonology team of pulmonologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, care coordinators and back office staff provide a full-spectrum of pulmonology care.

    We provide services such as pulmonary function tests, bronchoscopy and lung biopsies, surgical evaluations, and diagnosis and treatment of a variety of diseases such as bronchitis, lung cancer, and emphysema.

    EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent required.
    Post-secondary courses in Medical Terminology, computer applications and secretarial skills, or equivalent required.
    Experience and/or training in a hospital or medical office doing similar tasks preferred.
    Experience and/or training in reception or a customer service setting required.
    Experience and/or training with delegated health care services and ICD-10 and CPT coding required.

    Clerical
    • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

    Ability to comply with laws and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
