    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Position Title: Technology Technician

    Department: E-Services

    Reports to: Director of E-Services

    Nature of the Job

    Basic Purpose & Objective of the Position

    Hourly non-exempt, non-supervisory position. Primarily responsible for providing equipment and software support to all on-property computers and peripherals. Hands on and customer service oriented. Supervised by the Director of E-Services.

    Main Duties

    Customer Services

    • Delivers the brand promise and provides exceptional guest service at all times.
    • Provides excellent service to internal customers.
    • Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.

    Financial

    • Ensures that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to money handling and licensing are adhered to.

    Operational

    • Provides user support for all PC/Printer/Peripherals East, Miami -wide.
    • Provides guests support with all technology needs.
    • Install, configure, and support company's local area network (LAN).
    • Installs and sets up all new PC equipment and software.
    • Assists with any IP PBX system for all users.
    • Repairs and maintains PC equipment, printers and other peripherals.
    • Provides support to Micros/Opera/Concept/Delphi/HotSOS users.
    • Performs rotation of back up media to appropriate storage area.
    • Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability
    • Coordinate, and implement network security measures.
    • Performs tasks on main NT/Windows and other servers as directed by the E-Services Director
    • Adheres to East, Miami standards for guest service.
    • Refers guest problems or complaints to supervisor according to guest problem resolution policy.
    • Provides rotational after-hours on-call support for the entire IT infrastructure (24/7); Ability to work on weekends a must.
    • Performs other job-related duties as directed.

    Skills, Qualifications and Experience Requirements

    • Associates or Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, MIS/ IT or A+ and Network + Certification.
    • Two years-experience working with personal computers and local networks; knowledge of Microsoft NT/ Servers2003/2008 required. Hospitality background preferred.
    • Must possess good communication, organizational and clerical skills.
    • Must possess computer application experience in Office 2003/2007/2010 and Windows, 2003, XP, 7 and NT/ Server 2003/2008. Various Networking Topologies, and Local Area Networking/Wide Area Networking.
    • Must be able to install and set up personal computers; ability to troubleshoot and repair various problems associated with personal computers, LAN/WAN.
    • Must be able to work with a variety of people; maintain confidentiality.
    • Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision; work well under pressure; be able to manage multiple projects.
