    Description:
    Proviso Township High Schools District 209 is seeking Summer School Nurses for its Summer School 2024 program.

    Under the direction of the Summer School Administrator, the Summer School Nurse will attend to the medical needs of the students and staff for the duration of Summer School.

    Summer School Dates:
    Session 1

    Monday, June 17, 2024 through Wednesday, July 10, 2024

    No school on Wednesday, June 19, 2024; Wednesday, July 3, 2024; and Thursday, July 4, 2024

    Session 2

    Thursday, July 11, 2024 through Wednesday, July 31, 2024


    Schedule:
    Classes meet Monday through Thursday. No class on Fridays.

    Session goes from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

    Teachers report from 7:45 am - 1:15 pm


    Required Experience/Training:

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) Illinois State Certification; aptitude for working with children.
    • Must have been awarded from an accredited college or university a Bachelor's or Masters' degree in Nursing

    Position Description:

    • Assist in providing emergency care in illness and/or injury for general population.
    • Maintain all student health records
    • Maintain infirmary care facility
    • Conduct conferences with parents and students regarding heal issues when appropriate
    • Maintain health service equipment and supplies.
    • Attend special education staff meetings when appropriate.
    • Prepare health related reports
    • Participate in special programs and other related duties assigned by the administration.
    • Referral to, and consultation with, appropriate medical agencies; development and coordination of relevant community resources to address specific needs of the students and families
    • Linkage of services and intervention strategies to the classroom to enhance the child's overall educational development
    • Maintain valid and reliable records of all interactions with students
