- OT is offered depending on workload, sometimes mandated.
- Should the Illinois Board of Pharmacy require all Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists to return fully onsite - all employees are expected to do so.
- Candidates who have a license that is expired or is about to expire are having issues getting their license renewed.
- Candidates who have never been certified will be required to attend an accredited course (offered by the pharmacy) and take the exam to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician within 2 years.
- Assist the pharmacist in accordance with regulations, guidelines, and policies.
- Help in obtaining accurate verbal orders and missing prescription information.
- Assist patients with treatment compliance and medication deliveries.
- Communicate with health insurance payors and providers to verify prescription coverage.
- Identify process improvements and communicate ideas with supervisors.
- Interact professionally with internal and external teams for accurate service provision.
- Collaborate with necessary personnel to support changing business priorities.
- Check pharmacist voicemail if applicable. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must meet applicable Pharmacy Technician Licensure requirements by the first day of employment.
- Maintain current Illinois Certified Pharmacy Technician licensure and CE requirements.
- 3-5 years' healthcare experience; proficient in medical record handling/documentation, prescription data entry, and customer service.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to make quality decisions under general supervision.
- Effective communication with healthcare professionals; clear written and oral communication skills preferred.
- Ability to manage time effectively, collaborate cross-functionally, and adhere to deadlines.
- Flexible work schedule between 7am and 7pm.
- Strong computer skills, including accurate data entry, Microsoft Word, or Excel applications.

Purpose:
The Pharmacy Technician position aims to support the pharmacist(s) in various duties such as managing drug therapy orders, interpreting and dispensing prescriptions, maintaining patient and pharmacy records, and assisting in professional activities.
This role also involves collaborating with and supporting the Lead(s) and Supervisor(s) in daily activities, issue resolution, and project tasks completion. The position requires being a subject matter expert in all pharmacy operations functional areas.
