Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Material Handler in Irwin, Pennsylvania. In this position, you will primarily be responsible for providing value stream support in the Market and Receiving departments.The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of hand tools, attention to detail and proficiency in basic math skills (addition subtraction multiplication and division). The ability to effectively read interpret and follow instructions is also necessary as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Flexibility cooperation in performing other duties assigned is required.
The material handler role involves pulling parts from market shelves using barcodes managing stock control including part replenishment storage audits communicating shortages or quality issues to supervisors delivering kits following standardized routes ensuring consistent lean workflow from Market to Assembly processing work orders allocating finished products before dropping off shipping regularly visiting work cells refilling components Kanban containers consumables preventing line stoppages managing Kanban moving cards or containers signaling retrieving delivering necessary inventory unloading trucks with incoming parts raw materials verifying parts supplier packing list completing computer transactions wrapping processing work orders subcontractors removing empty bins cardboard trash areas keeping them tidy efficient operating equipment industrial safety regulations performing general warehouse duties math skills addition subtraction multiplication division ensuring proper handling use disposal chemical substances materials waste stream where applicable promoting safe environment following all safety procedures policies practices supporting continuous improvement initiatives quality safety improvement HPT participation standard day hour TIB operational metrics.
