- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival at the clinic.
- Register new patients and update existing patient information in the electronic health record (EHR) system accurately.
- Schedule patient appointments, procedures, and follow-up visits, coordinating with healthcare providers and other staff members.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, collect co-payments, and assist with billing inquiries as needed.
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries from patients, providers, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the front desk area, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients and visitors.
- Assist with medical records management, including filing, scanning, and retrieving patient records as required.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare facilities, ensuring timely and accurate communication with patients and providers.
- Assist with insurance authorizations, pre-certifications, and other administrative tasks related to patient care coordination.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and privacy policies to protect patient confidentiality and information security.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a front desk or administrative role.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software (e.g., scheduling, billing).
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing patient information and administrative tasks.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and remain calm under pressure in a busy clinic environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and billing processes is desirable.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and workflows in healthcare administration.
