    Job Summary:


    The Prin RF Design Engineer will be responsible for the design of highly integrated RF, Microwave, and mm-Wave sub-assemblies and systems.

    This individual will influence or direct the bid, proposal, design, and development of RF/Microwave products through the transition of products into production.

    Typical product functions include amplification, frequency conversion, switching and control, filtering and phase shifting.

    Multiple functions may be integrated with support circuitry such as voltage conditioning and regulation, digital and analog control of the principal RF function.

    This position will be responsible for analysis, design, test, integration and troubleshooting of complex electronic hardware systems, beginning with requirements definition through the introduction of the design into manufacturing.

    This role is responsible with collaborating and coordinating with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and other Engineering disciplines to proactively and efficiently resolve issues that may arise during production, testing, and integration.


    Job Responsibility:


    Define System Architectures to meet requirements and perform System Analysis using Microwave Office, ADS, HFSS, MATLAB or other simulation/analysis tools as appropriate Design of RF frequency converters, transceivers, exciters, and EW sub-systems Designs RF/ -Wave/mm-Wave Integrated Microwave Assemblies (IMA's) and RF Printed Circuit Assemblies (RFPCA's) Designs analog control circuits for amplifier bias, RF detection, integrated built-in-test functions Collaborates with and specifies firmware and software requirements for control and test to product specifications and requirements Develops the functional specifications for RF receiver or transmitter sub-systems Responsible for detailed design and schematic capture of the electronic circuits Ensures that PCB layout design meets design requirements Mentor and support test technicians to troubleshoot board and system level issues Performs bring-up and initial verifications of PCB's, IMA, and SRA/LRU sub-systems Developing, executing, and reporting design verification tests on prototypes Providing support and guidance for the development of automated methods for sub-system testing Release of the engineering design package to the production configuration management system Network with key contacts outside own area of expertise.

    Participate in future products and technology roadmap discussions Guide & Support Technical Program Management and Lead Customer Interface Meetings and Design Reviews


    Required Qualification:


    Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical/electronic engineering 10 years of experiences in RF System Simulation, the design of distributed and lumped element filters, and microwave and mixed signal circuit design Expert familiarity with test equipment such as Network Analyzers (Client-X), RF Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Noise Figure Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, digital I/O's, and Logic Analyzers in required.

    Strong first-principals foundation in electronics and diagnostics skills, being able to fault find down to component level. Hands-on experience with microwave circuit assembly and manufacturing techniques including wire bonding, flip-chip, and chip-on-board microelectronics packaging and assembly techniques Experience with X, Ku, Ka, and Q/V-Band Multi Chip Module and surface mount design Experience with the design of RF design elements including transmission lines, amplifiers,

    matching structures, amplitude and phase control elements. Familiarity with design for manufacturing and harsh environmental constraints Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills Detail-oriented with strong organization skills US Person status in accordance with ITAR regulations is required Must be able to obtain and maintain an active SECRET level security clearance

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience with Cadence Microwave Office, Visual System Simulator, Ansys HFSS, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Cadence Allegro or Mentor Graphics PADS Experience/ awareness of TPS, Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, RCA (Root Cause Analysis) techniques
