- Monitors inventory and discusses upcoming requirements with any contract or hold and release
- Makes the prompt turnaround of quotes a priority.
- Speaks to customers about developments and events (e.g. new / discontinuing products, increases
- Actively seeks new business from current customers as well as potential new customers.
- Establish and maintain good day-to-day working relationships with customer contacts.
- Enter all orders promptly as received, ensuring the accuracy of all relevant details (e.g.
- Monitors the status of customers' orders and intervenes as required to ensure on-time delivery.
- Contacts customers to inform them as soon as it is determined that their order will be late or
- Be an advocate for the customer in dealings with various departments such as Credit, Production,
- Performs all duties in a manner that is consistent with principles outlined in Samuel's Customer Bill
- Support and assist with customer satisfaction surveys
- Maintains the appropriate gross margin performance expected in all accounts
- Takes all relevant cost factors into consideration when developing quotes and ensure that quoted
- Reviews the profit performance of accounts on a regular basis and look for ways to improve. (e.g.
- Takes personal accountability for the inventory position and performance of accounts.
- Ensure Special Purchase Requisitions are placed as required to meet customer needs with
- Reviews the total in-stock and on order position of accounts to anticipate potential excess and
- Completion of post-secondary education, University / College education in Business or Marketing
- Experience in metals is a plus.
- Basic math skills especially using fractions is a must
- Effective time management skills, ability to prioritize, able to work as a member of a team
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook. AS400 experience is a plus.
- Previous interaction and experience working with customers
- Drive, determination and ability to work both independently with little direction and as part of a
- Familiarity with Computers, and computer software such as, (Word, Excel, Power Point, AS400 Sales, Microsoft Outlook), phone, calculator, company documentation as required.
- The role is primarily office-based and does not entail significant physical demands beyond typical office activities.
