    DSHS ESH Director of Policy

    Bring your specialized knowledge, training, and education in hospital policy and regulatory interpretation to Eastern State Hospital (ESH).

    Provide leadership as you bring a modern approach to how ESH documents standardized and compliant processes within its policies and procedures.


    The Director of Policy reports to the Chief Compliance Officer and manages the ESH policy program, providing guidance to ESH personnel.

    You'll be in an essential position for the hospital to meet its critical need for the development and management of a hospital policy program that is integrated, meets state and federal regulatory requirements, court ordered actions, and state and agency policies.


    Some of what you'll do:

    • Work collaboratively with Chief Compliance Officer to ensure all ESH policies and procedures are compliant with regulatory and related requirements
    • Lead a multidisciplinary policy committee to maintain current policies and procedures, identify policy needs and direction, and implement new policies and procedures hospital wide
    • Maintain knowledge of current regulatory requirements that must be reflected in ESH policies or procedures.
    • Work with hospital leadership team to identify policy and procedure needs, drafting updated and/or new policies accordingly.
    • Participate in key hospital committees to ensure policies and procedures reflect current best-practices, process improvements, and other ESH initiatives
    • Conduct annual policy audit and utilize results to implement performance improvement in applicable areas
    • Serve as agency resource for policy related questions and issues

    What we're looking for:
    Knowledge


    Bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, social work, nursing or other healthcare related field and five years work experience in a CMS regulated hospital or health system.


    AND


    Three years' work experience planning and managing complex projects through all phases from initial planning through implementation, completion, and evaluation.

    Experience may run concurrently.

    Skills and Abilities


    • Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements governing hospitals as applied to a public healthcare entity
    • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member in a professional and collegial atmosphere
    • Knowledge of office procedures and practices, project management, research methods, and data collection
    • Ability to effectively communicate professionally in both verbal and written from
    • Proficiency with Microsoft platform to include Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook
    • Public speaking and presentation skills.
