    Description

    Title: QA Lead / CMM Programmer

    Job Description:

    This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week with occasional overtime on weekdays and/or weekends at the company's manufacturing facility located in Nicholasville, KY. The QA Lead / CMM Programmer will report to the Quality Manager. The QC Techs will report to this position.

    The role will be responsible for overseeing the CMM programming and inspection process and be the SME on CMM Programming in PC-DMIS language, GD&T application and developing optimal inspection strategies. The parts being inspected are very tightly toleranced CNC machined parts, primarily for customers in the aerospace industry. Daily tasks include

    • CMM programming
    • Developing inspection procedures
    • Operation of DCC Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
    • Preparation of documents including Bubble drawing and AS9102 submission
    • QA Lab planning based on production priorities.
    The primary responsibilities for the Quality Control Technician are listed below.

    Responsibilities
    • Create PC-DMIS DCC CMM programs and associated inspection procedures.
    • Prepare QA documentation for inspection including Bubble Prints.
    • QA Lab inspection planning based on production priorities.
    • Perform full inspection tasks of manufactured parts to print/model
    • Reads blueprints with high level GD&T
    • Identify and escalate non-conformances
    • Communicate effectively to both Quality Manager, Operations Manager, and Machinists
    • Maintain compliance to all safety, regulatory, and company policies and procedures (OSHA/ITAR/AS9100), informing management of potential risks immediately
    • Possess a mindset of Safe Excellence by taking action in addressing quality and people safety concerns as necessary
    • Support with all other production activities as needed for the business
    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements
    • High School diploma or GED
    • Proficient with Office 365 products
    • 2 years PC-DMIS DCC CMM programming work experience.
    • Shop math proficiency, computer literacy, and strong mechanical aptitude.
    • CAD/CAM Knowledge and experience with measuring tools and equipment
    • Experience with 3D modeling and drawings, import IGES model into CMM program.
    • Must be able to lift and carry tools and material weighing up to 50 pounds.
    • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Post HS education in either Vocational or Academic fields.
    • 5 years experience working in a CNC machining environment
    • Experience teaching / coaching CMM operators and programmers.
    • Experience working in a shop that has ITAR and/or AS9100 certification.
    • Advanced GD&T knowledge and experience.
    • Proficient with Windows 10(PRO)
    • LEAN/TPM manufacturing experience
    • Certified Lead Internal Auditor (ISO 9001 or similar).
    • Experience working with startups or scale up of small businesses
    The ideal candidate for this role will possess a willingness and ability to learn, read, follow and interpret drawings including high level GD&T, processes and procedures. Applicants must possess intermediate math and computer skills, ability to communicate effectively with others, and engage in process improvements. Appropriate use of all inspection equipment and sample features to verify conformance is required.
