- Lead and managed a global team of system engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful execution of projects and initiatives.
- Develop and implement compute strategies for both production and non-production environments, including capacity planning, resource allocation, and auto-scaling mechanisms to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency.
- Drive DevOps practices within the organization by overseeing a team of Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) responsible for managing production deployments, ensuring continuous integration, delivery, and monitoring of applications.
- Manage storage requirements for production and non-production environments, including capacity planning, data retention policies, and data protection strategies to meet business needs and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate and oversee system upgrades and patches, ensuring minimal disruption to operations while keeping systems up-to-date with the latest security patches and enhancements.
- Develop and implement load-balancing strategies and network traffic management techniques for applications to optimize performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Maintain and administer a large number of Linux/UNIX servers, demonstrating a deep understanding of UNIX/Linux/Windows OS fundamentals and concepts, with a focus on Red Hat Linux.
- Manage and optimize VMware-based virtualized environments at scale, leveraging expertise in OpenStack and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) to enhance flexibility, scalability, and resource utilization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address system-related issues, troubleshoot complex technical problems, and implement solutions to improve system reliability, performance, and security.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in system engineering, continuously evaluating and recommending new tools, processes, and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- A minimum of 10-15 years infra infra-development experience
- Experience in containerization using K8s
- Scripting experience, specifically with Ruby/Perl and shell scripting language (shell, bash, etc) to automate existing workloads and routine system admin tasks. In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, BIND, LDAP, and other core technologies such as Sendmail, NTP, TCP/IP, FCIP, iSCSI, SAN, NAS, etc.
- Experience in resolving complex issues related to Break-fix performance tuning and deployments.
- Ability to determine when a server is in a "distressed" state.
- Strong understanding of network and server security.
- Experience with other UNIX/Linux versions is a plus.
- Experience with Chef / Puppet /CfEngine will be a big plus.
- Highly skilled in Linux, Windows OS
- Experience in a cloud environment, prefer Azure and/or OCI

- Excellent problem-solving skills; meticulous & methodical
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly and self-directed
- Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into simple software solutions
- Thorough understanding of Object-Oriented principles (Analysis and Design)
- Knowledge of messaging (e.g. MQ Series, JMS, etc.)
- Experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, XML-RPC, etc.)
- Experience with relational databases and data access (JDBC/DAO/SQL) Oracle is strongly preferred.
- Experience with NoSQL databases, HBase, and MongoDB strongly preferred
- Experience with Kafka(good to have)
- Experience with deploying to Cloud platforms
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Science, Business, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
