Wellspring is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving seniors, families, and children throughout Michigan.

We are currently seeking a Family Preservation Social Worker to join our MiFT Program in Traverse City, providing direct support to families across Michigan's Northwest Region.

Responsibilities

Adhere to the MiFT model of service using a strengths-based, non-deficit approach.
Provide families with concrete services including housing support, transportation, home cleaning, maintenance, and repair.
Deliver skills training in parenting, communication, self-advocacy, and self-sufficiency.
Provide short-term counseling and crisis intervention.
Coordinate with external providers to arrange counseling, medical care, educational support, housing resources, and utility assistance.
Prepare timely documentation including service plans, progress reports, termination summaries, goal sheets, and weekly reports.
Present cases for termination conferences and recommend follow-up services.
Maintain 24-hour availability for clients and work a flexible schedule based on family needs.
Conduct face-to-face contact with families according to contract requirements and family needs.
Maintain weekly communication with referring workers and complete follow-up evaluations at 3, 6, and 12 months post-service.
Transport clients using your personal vehicle as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in social work or a related human services field (required).
Valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and auto insurance (required).
Experience working with children and families (preferred).
Reliable, compassionate, and committed to providing high-quality services.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Full-Time

Schedule:
Flexible schedule with 24-hour availability as needed

Work Environment:
Hybrid – home-based with daily travel throughout the service area

In-Office Requirements:
Weekly team meetings, trainings, and clinical supervision

Salary:
$44,500 / year, based on experience

Travel:
Mileage reimbursement for work-related travel
