    Description

    Description:Troubleshoot PLCs and electrical issues on their presses and mechanical troubleshooting

    Electrical:

    • Be able to read an electric circuit diagram
    • Install a sensor or photoswitch, including switches with amplifiers
    • Install a mechanical limit switch
    • Wire of modify a hardwire safety circuit
    • Install control devices (relays & contactors)
    • Use a meter to troubleshoot a hardwired circuit
    • Use a meter to read current
    • Be able to use a digital or analog meter, a clamp on ammeter, or a voltage checker
    • Check a circuit for continuityMechanical:
    • Must have mechanical experience
    • Be able to read and interpret a mechanical blueprintPLCs:
    • Making physical connection to interface between the computer and a variety of PLC's
    • Perform program downloads (PLC to computer) and uploads (computer to PLC)PLC Programming
    • Troubleshoot a basic PLC logic circuit
    • Be able to change out or add a card to a rack or remote and configure

    Pneumatics/Hydraulics:

    • Be able to read a basic pneumatic/hydraulic circuit diagram

    Motors:

    • Be able to wire a 2 or 3 phase motor
