Job Description
Job DescriptionSummary/Objective - Perform all functions related to weighing, mixing, storage/movement and manufacturing of mixed materials.
Essential Functions
· Weigh or measure materials, ingredients, or products to ensure conformance to requirements.
· Document and maintain product identity and traceability at all times.
· Start machines to mix or blend ingredients; then allow them to mix for specified times.
· Operate or tend machines to mix or blend any of a wide variety of formulations.
· Dump or pour specified amounts of materials into machinery or equipment.
· Observe production or monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
· Stop mixing or blending machines when specified product qualities are obtained and open valves and start pumps to transfer mixed materials.
· Add or mix liquids or dry ingredients for processing, using hand tools or other devices.
· Examine materials, ingredients, or products visually or with hands to ensure conformance to established standards.
· Record operational or production data on specified forms.
· Transfer materials, supplies, or products between work areas, using moving equipment or hand tools.
· Read work orders to determine production specifications or information.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area.
· Clean and sanitize all equipment at required times.
· All employees have the responsibility to report food safety problems to their supervisor/lead or someone with authority to initiate action.
Competencies
1. Must bring interpersonal and communication (written and oral in English) skills required to interact with various levels of plant personnel.
2. Ability to operate in a team environment.
3. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
4. Must be detail-oriented, organized, and possess ability to multi-task.
5. Ability to prioritize and meet production goals within specified time constraints.
6. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
7. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to food scents, some food allergens, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
All employees shall identify any risk of intentional harm to the facility, personnel or products. All employees have the responsibility to report unauthorized persons to their Supervisor/Lead or a Manager who will challenge the individual and/or escort them from the site.

Physical Demands

This is a full-time position. Hours and days of work varied depending on shift and production demands.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
Preferred Education and Experience
6-12 months food manufacturing experience preferred.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be authorized to work in the US.
