    Job Summary:


    The Product Manager Taste & Sensory Solutions is responsible for delivering on the continuous growth of the Net Profit Margins of the Taste and Sensory product subgroups he/she is responsible for, primarily through a tight and focused management of the product portfolio.

    The Subgroups involved are:

    Heat, Spice Blends and Alliums


    Responsibilities include defining the price strategy and the gross margins targets of each product subgroup, supporting the pricing efforts through the sales force, initiating profitability improvement projects together with Sourcing, Operations and Customer Experiences, reducing the complexity of our value chain to support efficiency gains, being the product expert voice in Front of the customers, enhancing competitive awareness, and supporting the R&D team in their formulation choices.

    This position may need to drive strategic projects.

    Working and collaborating positively with other Departments and Functions will be instrumental for the success of such a role.

    Essential Job Functions:

    Responsible for the Gross Margin ($ and %) and the Net Gross Margin ($ and %) for the Heat, Spice Blend Allium product subgroups
    Responsible for coordinating the Pricing of Large contracts and Key Account RFQs for assigned product lines
    Responsible for forecasting year end Gross Margin ($ and %) and Net Gross Margin ($ and %), where appropriate, for the assigned product lines

    Develop with the support of the Taste BU Management a competitive intelligence tool increasing market awareness and supporting educated decision-making process.

    Integrate support and operational functions that are critical to the subgroups including global sales, customer service, research and development, quality, product applications, procurement, and regulatory, by building collaborative relationships.

    Lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute product group strategy and deliver constant profitability improvements.
    Be a key partner of the S&OP team to strengthen alignment between Sales, Demand Planning and Sourcing.
    Train the Account Managers on a regular basis on Kalsec's competitive advantages
    Interact with customers to explain our compelling Value proposition
    Execute business strategies on a global, national, regional, industry and customer level including pricing, product positioning, promotion & advertising.

    For product lines that have market volatility or supply disruption, work with Procurement to manage raw material position, availability, pricing strategy and allocation plan, if necessary.

    Share portfolio analysis gaps and suggest new product development.

    Education/Experience/Skills:

    Required:

    Master's degree in food science/technology or business or equivalent combination of education and commercial experience in the food industry.
    5 to 10 years of food industry experience in Sales & Marketing or Product Management.

    Desired:

    B.A; Multilingual or Bilingual; International experience.

    Physical Requirements:

    Prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
    Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
    Must be able to access various departments of a given location

    This position requires completing annual training for Good Manufacturing Practices, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points, Food Defense and Food Safety.

    Additional initial training and annual refresher training will be assigned based on job classification. Training is conducted through Kalsec, Inc.'s electronic training program, eFront and on the job training in each department.


    This position is also required to assure all persons that report up through this position complete initial and annual training related to food safety.
