    Positions Type:
    This is a full time position that is eligible for overtime. This position will require frequent travel among HomeWorks Energy's locations throughout Massachusetts. A company car will be provided.

    Job Summary:


    The Safety Coordinator plays a critical role in our organization and is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment.

    The Safety Coordinator will conduct work site, customer site, and vehicle inspections and will assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

    The individual in this position will be the point of contact for Worker's Compensation claims and processing.

    Essential Functions:

    Worker's Compensation Administration:
    Be the point of contact for all Worker's Compensation incidents.

    Work with management to ensure documentation is completed properly.
    Submit claims to Worker's Compensation carrier timely.

    Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
    Maintain injury tracking file in accordance with state requirements.
    Complete and submit OSHA required reporting.
    Claims review.

    Conduct regular safety inspections of facilities, equipment, vehicles, customer sites, and processes to identify potential safety hazards and risks.

    Ensure inspections are logged accurately.
    Identify opportunities for improvement.
    Implement corrective actions where necessary.
    Provide retraining to correct anomalies.


    Training:
    Assist in identifying training opportunities targeted toward improving safety compliance.
    Create and provide training and retraining for employees to reduce or eliminate risk.
    Promote safety awareness through training and informational materials.

    State up to date with regulatory changes and update SOP's and training materials as needed.
    Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports and any other safety-related documentation.
    Participate in safety committees, meetings, and other forums to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
    Perform additional tasks as required.

    Qualifications:
    High School diploma or equivalent required
    Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or related field strongly preferred
    A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
    Registration as a Certified Safety Professional or similar form of licensure preferred
    1+ years' experience as a Safety Coordinator (or relevant experience) required
    Valid insurable driver's license and ability to successfully pass an MVR required
    Compliance experience in the construction industry preferred
    DOT Medical Card preferred
    Position requires proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English
    Thorough knowledge of health and safety laws and guidelines
    Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish professional relationships with employees and supervisors and provide constructive feedback
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation
    Ability to prioritize tasks
    Proficient in using and learning computers and software programs, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
    Ability to review complex health and safety regulations and translate them into easily digestible, understandable, policies, trainings, and procedures
    Willingness to learn and continuously develop in this role
