    CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD
    Position Summary

    The Site Operations Manager (SOM) is responsible for leading flight and ground operations for Manned Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (MAISR) in a remote Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) environment with end state to maximize mission results, while ensuring safety of personnel and equipment, aircrew and non-aircrew preparedness, and efficient aircraft maintenance.

    The SOM is also an instructor and occasionally conducts missions for continuity, standardization, and acts as a safety relief in case aircrew becomes ill or unavailable.

    The SOM reports directly to the Program Manager and serves as the company representative as the direct liaison with Government and Military representatives at forward operating location.

    Essential Functions and Competency Statements

    • Manage operational systems and aircraft.
    • Establish and enforce flight standards and regulatory compliance.
    • Ensure safety of flight, maintenance, and ground operations.
    • Administer proper accountability of inventory and expenditures.
    • Provide timely reports and updates.
    • Maintain operational oversight of site staff and equipment.
    • Monitor and track flight status.
    • Assess risk and obtain flight authorization.
    • Develop and edit procedures.
    • Audit site for compliance with Government metrics.
    • Completes all administratively required forms and documents on schedule.
    • Ensure site compliance with all Operations Security (OPSEC) and Communications Security (COMSEC) requirements.
    • Advanced level of personnel management experience through previous leadership roles.
    • High level of learning, strategic thinking, team building, conflict resolution and time management.
    • Excellent communication skills, verbally and in written format, for briefing and presentation delivery to program employees, management and customers.
    • Should have a comprehensive understanding of company management philosophy, processes, and tools.
    • Must possess ability to manage cost and schedule; proven ability to deliver on time and with utmost quality.
    • Commitment to detail and desire to uphold all personnel to a high standard.
    Supervisory Responsibility
    This role has supervisory responsibilities.
    Work Environment

    During deployment, employees will be living under field conditions and must be able to work with little supervision in austere or arduous environments.

    Work environment varies widely based on geographic location of contract operations.
    Physical Demands
    This position has the following physical ability requirements.
    Expected Hours of Work
    The daily working hours for this position vary Monday through Sunday. Hours and work shifts may vary in accordance with business needs. You will be scheduled to forward deploy/work approximately 60-75 days OCONUS followed by rotation off-site for approximately 60-75 days. Rotation schedule might be adjusted in order to meet program requirements.

    Travel
    Travel requirements are 50% - OCONUS deployment.
    Required Education, Experience and Certificates

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Management, Aviation or 8+ years of related work experience.
    • Experience: 10+ years of aviation management experience.

    Certificates and Licenses:

    • Valid Driver's License
    • Must have a current US Passport

    Computer Skills:

    • Microsoft Office Suite
    Preferred Education, Experience, and Certificates

    • Education: Master's degree in Management, Aviation or 12+ years of related work experience.
    • Experience: 4+ years of prior overseas rotation experience.
    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    • Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with little or no assistance.
    • Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
    Work Authorization/Security Clearance

    • Employee must be a US citizen.
    • Employee must be able to hold and maintain a Top Secret (or higher) Clearance Level
