    Full Time Equivalent:

    1.0 FTE Exempt


    Work Hours:
    Mondays through Fridays, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with flexibility required for frequent evening and weekend hours.


    POSITION SUMMARY


    The primary role of this position is to coordinate the expansion of the ULGM Young Professionals and ULGM Guild programs and designing and coordinating an innovative new component to these programs that helps African Americans and other persons of color advance in their career by providing mentorship, networking, and skill development opportunities.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    ULGM Young Professionals (ULGM YP) and ULGM Guild


    Serve as the primary staff liaison to the ULGM YP and ULGM Guild chapters and provide staff support to the chapters' activities.


    Work with ULGM YP & ULGM Guild Leadership Team to develop and implement an annual workplan to include membership and participation goals, annual objectives, and activities.


    Coordinate programming and activities that supports the professional growth of ULGM YP members including featured employer seminars, a cohort-style professional development academy, mentoring opportunities, and other programming to support career advancement.

    Develop process to encourage ULGM Workforce Development program participants to become members of ULGM YP or ULGM Guild.


    Work closely with the ULGM Volunteer Coordinator to engage ULGM YP & ULGM Guild members as volunteers for ULGM adult and ULGM youth programs as well as ULGM special events.

    Identify, assess, and engage as appropriate in collaborative opportunities with other area young professional initiatives.

    Provide ULGM Executive Leadership monthly and annual reports on ULGM YP & ULGM Guild activities and progress towards goals.

    Design, implement and maintain professional development programming including a Career Mentor component in order to help more individuals of color advance to the next step in their career.

    Recruit, screen, and onboard program participants.

    Recruit, screen, train, and support mentors.

    Develop Collaborations with other corporate and community level professionals and leaders.

    Oversee the implementation of individualized professional development plans with each program participant and their mentor.

    Provide custom career related resources requested by program participants that offer career development and advisement.

    Support collaborative and cooperative programming with public and private institutions of Higher Education.


    Marketing & Outreach:
    Oversee the creation of appropriate marketing materials and recruitment activities.

    Develop recruitment strategies and relationships to gain the interest of qualified employers, program participants, & program mentors.

    Other duties as defined by supervisor.


    QUALIFICATIONS


    Strong commitment to the mission of the Urban League of Greater Madison and to working with individuals from diverse racial/cultural backgrounds.


    Bachelor's degree Human Resources, Adult Education, or another relevant field and/or at least 2 years of related experience in a paid position.

    Experience with program design and development and/or project management.

    Detail oriented, highly organized, and able to meet goals within established timelines.

    Strong oral and written communication skills.

    Demonstrated ability to establish effective and cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

    Experience managing social media networks, including Facebook and LinkedIn.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office.

    Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
