Children's Center Student Worker (Federal Student Worker

Students working as a federal student worker for the Children's Center will work at the Taft College Child Development Center and on the Taft College main campus as assigned. Students will be required to read to children, manage spaces, materials, and activities related to literacy development.

Duties include:

- Assist the Child Development Center Director in organizing books and literacy materials for the Children's Library.

- Assist teachers in organizing books and other literacy materials.

- Manage and clean the Children's Library and Adult Student Resource Room, including checking-out materials to adults.

- Read and support children's learning.

- Other duties as assigned.

Minimal Qualifications:

• Must be a current Taft College student enrolled in 6 or more units;
• Must be currently in good standing with a GPA of 2.0 or above;
• Must be eligible for Federal Financial Aid.

Students will be required to show proof of immunizations, TB Clearance, and flu shot, or be willing to sign a flu shot waiver, as listed below:

• TB test or Risk Assessment (within 1 year)
• Statement of Good Health
• Confidentiality Agreement
• Child Care Mandated Reporter Certificate
• Annual Pesticide Notification
• Basic Pest Control Management (Healthy Schools Act)
• 2 MMRS
• DTap or TDap (Pertussis) within 10 years
• Influenza or waiver (within 1 year)
