As we continue to grow our business, we find that we have a need to add Portfolio Account Manager to the team.
    The Opportunity: Portfolio Account Manager
    Due to a long term key team member moving on to new challenges, we find ourselves in a position to replace this position. Will you thrive in a role where you can build strong relationships, drive sales, develop relationships and ensure operational excellence? As a Portfolio Account Manager at PGS, you will be
    instrumental in managing key client existing accounts, managing multiple subcontractors and expanding our reach within new and existing portfolios. This is a highly autonomous role with significant responsibility and authority, offering the chance to directly influence our success and be the "front line"of contact with our valued customers.
    What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities):
    As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for the holistic management of assigned PGS customers and their portfolios. Your key responsibilities will include:
    Strategic Client Relationship Management & Development: Cultivate and nurture strong, long-term relationships with clients, positioning PGS as an indispensable partner. This includes regular engagement through meetings, industry events, and proactive communication.
    Business Development & Sales Leadership: Drive growth by identifying, qualifying, and closing new landscape maintenance and snow removal contracts. This involves:
    o Thoroughly understanding client needs and property challenges.
    o Accurately estimating, pricing, and developing compelling proposals.
    o Effectively presenting and selling PGS services to achieve sales targets.
    Contract Management & Renewal Excellence: Oversee the review and successful renewal of existing grounds care and snow & ice management contracts, leveraging historical data and established business needs.
    • Landscape Enhancement Sales (Upsells): Proactively identify and sell additional landscape enhancement services to existing clients, maximizing account value.
      Operational Oversight & Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest quality of service delivery for your
      assigned accounts through diligent oversight and review of both PGS staff work and subcontractor performance. This includes:
      o Regular job site reviews and inspections.
      o Communicating any operational issues to the relevant teams.
      Subcontractor Network Development & Management: Actively locate, qualify, develop, and manage a network of high-performing subcontractors, ensuring seamless service delivery across diverse geographic areas and specialized needs. This also includes site visits to verify performance and track quality.
      Internal Collaboration & Communication: Foster strong working relationships with PGS OperationsManagers, administrative staff, and the VP of Sales. You will be responsible for:
      o Coordinating in-house services effectively.
      o Ensuring timely and accurate customer information is communicated to administrative support.
      o Effectively managing the change order process, including reviewing subcontractor and customer invoicing.
      o Maintaining open communication channels with all stakeholders to prevent gaps or errors.
      Performance Tracking & Accountability: Diligently track and submit required data weekly for sales and operations meetings, contributing to individual and group targets that drive company goals.
      Continuous Improvement & Professional Development: Actively assess PGS operations and services, providing recommendations for enhancement and efficiency. You will also be expected to continually develop your personal skills and knowledge.
    • What You'll Bring (Minimum Qualifications):
      • General knowledge of landscape and snow removal operations, with a strong emphasis on snow services and horticultural knowledge of plants, pests, pesticides, and irrigation.
      • Excellent general office and computer skills, with strong proficiency in MS Office applications.
      • Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to pass a drug test.
      • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
      • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong sense of accountability.
      • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with fluctuating hours, particularly during peak seasons.
      • Ability to be available 24/7 during snow removal contracts (unless on vacation).
      Work Environment & Support:
      This role offers significant flexibility and autonomy. While the position often involves "face time" with clients and operations staff, a permanent physical office location is not typically required, allowing for remote operation and managing clients and subcontractors in various geographic areas, including SE Michigan. It is anticipated that Account Managers will frequently work from home or while on the road. A dedicated contract administrator will assist with producing sales proposals, presentations, work orders, subcontractor documentation, and data collection. You will be provided with the necessary tools, including a company vehicle, laptop, software and cellular phone. You will also spend a significant amount of time in the
      first few weeks shadowing an Account Manager and other members of our team to learn how we operate. Your compensation package will include excellent benefits and a company vehicle, fuel card and appropriate uniform attire.
      At PGS, teamwork is paramount. You will be part of a collaborative environment where supporting one another
      and maintaining strong working relationships across all departments are essential for success. While reporting directly to the VP of Sales, there is a strong "dotted line" reporting relationship to the VP of Operations, emphasizing the importance of operational coordination.
