    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled and experienced Critical Care Nurse to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care to complex ICU patients in a mixed-unit setting. Your responsibilities will include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care for medical, surgical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma patients. You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams and manage patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring optimal outcomes for patients.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Patient Care: Deliver patient-centric care to complex ICU patients, including medical, surgical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases.
    • Assessment and Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' conditions and develop individualized plans of care based on clinical data.
    • Monitoring and Intervention: Monitor patients closely and provide timely therapeutic interventions based on changing conditions.
    • Documentation: Accurately document care, interventions, and patient progress according to facility standards and protocols.
    • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
    • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.
    • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
    • Emergency Response: Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies, including performing CPR, ACLS, and TNCC procedures as necessary.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience (excluding travel experience). 1.5 years of ICU experience may be considered with significant RN experience outside of ICU.
    • Travel Experience: Minimum of one prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers not accepted.
    • Proximity: Must live at least 100 miles away from any [facility name] facility.
    • Previous Staff: Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler.
    • Patient Types: Complex ICU patients with diagnoses such as ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, cardiac cath post-surgical, and multiple system trauma.
    • Cardiac Experience: Cardiac experience (preferred but not required), including CABG/TAVR post-op care hours).
    • Fresh Open Hearts: Travelers may not be assigned fresh open hearts unless they are experienced and the facility is comfortable with their expertise.
