    JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:


    The Director of Nursing is responsible for establishing and executing a vision for nursing that promotes service excellence, high operational performance, and national standards for nursing care across the organization.

    Leadership includes strategic planning, promotion of safe patient care practices and working environments, ensuring evidence-based care delivery, benchmarked quality patient service and outcomes, continuous improvement, and professional development.

    This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise in oncology nursing, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both clinical and operational leaders.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversee the recruitment, selection, and retention of nursing professionals for geographic region, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skill mix, compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and industry best practices.
    • Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures which drive quality patient care.
    • Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders including operational and clinical leaders. Manage organizational relationships in a way that builds and maintains a climate of trust and inspires commitment from others to achieve organization goals.
    • Influence and recommend organization-wide changes for the advancement of nursing practices and patient care, in partnership with Nursing Manager and Chief Medical Officer.
    • Create an environment which recognizes and values diversity and designs strategies that address the unique needs of TOI's diverse workforce, patient population, and communities.
    • Contribute to the development, implementation, utilization and evaluation of cost-effective medical programs, policies and procedures that address the high-quality nursing care, treatment, and service needs of TOI patient population.
    • Ensure short and long-term financial goals are met by establishing and controlling budgets. Monitor and assess external trends and internal practices; make recommendations to develop/adjust strategy to meet the changing business and market conditions.
    • Support the development and implementation of recruitment and retention strategies to ensure a stable workforce of qualified staff members available to meet the needs of TOI patients.
    • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teammate engagement, health and wellbeing, professional growth and development, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Conduct regular meetings with nursing teams, ensuring appropriate support levels and ongoing discussions related to education and training needs.
    • Alongside Quality team, guide the operational implementation of quality improvement initiatives using innovation and evidence-based practice.
    • Coach and mentor aspiring nurse leaders: Develops a strong leadership team by setting high standards of behavior, performance, quality, patient care experience, and integrity.
    • Oversee annual employee performance evaluations of direct reports and, through subordinates, ensures that all departmental employees receive annual written performance evaluations.
    • Serve as an active member of the TOI Patient Safety Organization.
    • Demonstrate a clear understanding of accreditation and regulatory requirements applicable to patient care and/or other department functions.
    • Maintain knowledge of current nursing practice, roles, and functions within nursing and other healthcare disciplines.
    • Ensure that nursing practice and clinical policies and procedures are reviewed and updated and are consistent with current standards and evidence-based practice.
    • Establish standard operating procedures for nursing-related activities

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Strong clinical knowledge in oncology nursing practices and procedures.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
    • High business acumen and acuity
    • Proven ability to manage change.
    • Ability to analyze and evaluate data and make appropriate decisions/recommendations.
    • Willingness and ability to travel up to 15% of the time, if required
    • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
    • Current BLS and Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy (ONS) certification.
    • Minimum seven (7) years of proven, progressive experience in oncology or a related field.
    • Minimum three (3) years demonstrated leadership experience.

    PHYSICAL WORKING REQUIREMENTS:
    The position involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, extensive computer use, and phone interaction. Additionally, the role may require occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds for office supplies or equipment.

    $110,000-$120,000 USD
