    Description

    Job Summary

    POWER Engineers is currently seeking a design engineer with experience in substation design. This position is in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Mount Laurel, New Jersey office.

    Flexibility is available to work remotely and/or in the office (remote employees will need to drive to the office for occasional meetings).

    Roles and Responsibilities

    Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations.

    One-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling.

    Occasional travel will be required.
    Required Education/Experience

    BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering), BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology), BSME (BS Mechanical Engineering), or BSCE (BS Civil Engineering).
    Experience in 15kV through 230kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards.
    Experience filling the role of substation design engineer for several projects occurring concurrently.
    Engineer in Training (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

    The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.

    Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
    Desired Education/Experience

    Four (4) or more years experience in utility substation design as outlined above.
    Experience in 345kV through 500kV substation design.
    Professional Engineering license (PE).
    Experience in managing small project teams.
