Join Our Team:

We are searching for a part-time Medical Biller for our Gateway Asthma & Allergy office located in O'Fallon

Opportunity:

  • Part-time opening
  • Under 30 hours a week
  • Let us know what days and hours you would like work (during regular business hours, Monday - Friday) This position also shares in rotating coverage of a Saturday morning shift
  • No nights or holidays
  • Outpatient clinical practice
  • This position is not benefit eligible

Day-to-Day:

  • The primary responsibility of this position is to assist with billing all immunotherapy and biologics for the practice
  • The Medical Biller will also be cross-trained to cover the front desk including:
  • Performing patient check-in/check-out
  • Scheduling patient appointments
  • Collecting co-payments
  • Verifying insurance
  • Registering patients/update patient demographics
  • Answering the telephone
  • Balancing monies at day end

Who we are seeking (preferred):

  • The Medical Biller is highly visible in their interactions with patients and must therefore project a positive office image at all times including smiling, greeting patients with enthusiasm, and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions with patients and coworkers.
  • Formal training which will probably be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 or more years of experience working in a healthcare setting.
  • A Billing & Coding Certificate or completion of schooling is not required, but preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology,
  • Knowledge of the different types of health insurance plans; i.e. HMO's, PPO's, etc.
  • PC/Windows proficiency.
  • Medical coding familiarity.
  • Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments.
