    Description

    Job Title

    Desktop Specialist (Tier 2)

    Job Summary

    Provide expert technical support to end-users, escalating complex issues and performing hardware deployments, reimaging, and maintenance of PC/Laptop images and applications.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot endpoint technologies, including physical and virtual systems
    • Deliver deskside computer troubleshooting and problem resolution
    • Deploy and troubleshoot operating systems and enterprise application software
    • Manage incidents and requests assigned to the Desktop Support Team
    • Develop and maintain user and technical documentation
    • Work on specific tasks or projects to meet business objectives
    • Backup to the Help Desk Team (Tier 1)
    • Coordinate hardware repair with Managed Service Provider (MSP)
    • Perform hardware moves and inventory management

    Additional Duties

    • Point of escalation for difficult and complex issues escalated by the Help Desk
    • Point of contact for Help Desk questions and knowledge
    • Analyze and identify trends in reported issues, devising preventative solutions
    • Participate in Continuous Process Improvement on Desktop Support Processes
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects
    • Perform other tasks and projects assigned by the manager

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent experience
    • 2-3 years of experience in desktop hardware/software configuration in an enterprise environment
    • Industry certification (A+, MCITP) preferred
    • Understanding of ITIL Framework
    • Strong knowledge of PC and Laptop hardware, peripherals, and Windows OS
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and SCCM
    • Understanding of financial applications (Bloomberg, Factset, Thomson Reuters) a plus
