    Description
    Under general supervision, provides nursing services including direct patient care, care management, and provider support.


    • Bilingual Spanish Preferred.
    • Experience using NextGen.
    • Experience in primary care.
    • Familiar with FQHC operations.
    • Provides nursing services including direct patient care, care management, and provider support.
    • Supports back-office operations by optimizing clinic workflow.
    • Completes medication refills and tasks, prior authorizations, and triages patient inquires.
    • Serves as a resource for other back-office staff in the areas of patient consultation and inquiry using nursing knowledge and expertise.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

    Education:
    Registered Nurse from an accredited school.


    Experience:
    No nursing experience required.


    Additional Requirements:
    Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.

    Must be Licensed Registered Nurse from an accredited school.

    Must possess current Arizona Nursing license.

    Must possess current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Professionals

    • Applicable statues, standards, policies, and regulations relating to specific area of practice.
    • Chronic medical conditions, current health care methods, and practices.
    • Medical office operations.
    • Cultural diversity and implications in delivering healthcare.
    • Business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition.
    • Clerical office practices and procedures.
    • Research techniques and report writing.
    • Current Microsoft Office software.
    • Filing and recordkeeping.

    • Demonstrating care, concern, and courtesy when dealing with people.
    • Providing patients with information needed to make personal health decisions.
    • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing and communicating orally in a face-to-face setting and by telephone with public and employees.
    • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
    • Organization and adherence to detail.

    Ability to:

    • Function effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision within established guidelines while demonstrating appropriate professional judgment and identify potential problems.
    • Prioritize work, meet deadlines, efficiently manage time.
    • Understand health care concepts pertinent to work requirements and provide accurate and thorough teaching to patients as directed by the health care provider.
    • Recognize and report a patient's health status accurately.
    • Maintain public trust by honoring patient confidentiality at all times.
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, County officials, and the public.
    • Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the department.
    • Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties.
    • Handle confidential matters and maintain discretion always.
    • Act with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.

    Work Environment:
    The work involves potential exposure to infections, contagious diseases and blood borne pathogens. Clinical staff are required to use appropriate protective equipment. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.


    Physical Requirements:
    Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

    Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effective in-person and telephonically.

    Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
