    Description

    The Inova Surgery Service Line is seeking a Gastroenterologist to provide world class care in the diagnosis and treatment of gastroenterology conditions and diseases. The physician will provide outpatient Gastroenterology services and perform endoscopic procedures at our new Oakville location. Inova Gastroenterology is expanding services in the Eastern Region of Northern Virginia to accommodate the health care needs of the growing City of Alexandria due to the Amazon HQ2, Virginia Tech Innovation campus and the thousands of new residents and workers who will locate there.

    Required inpatient consultation and ED call coverage will include one week per month. This position will be integral in developing disease specific programs throughout the Inova Health System in partnership with the Surgery, Cancer, and Primary Care Service Lines.

    Services for conditions including:

    Colonoscopy
    Polyps
    Diagnosis of colon and bowel cancers
    Abdominal pain
    Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
    Gallbladder stones and gallbladder cancer
    Ulcers
    Constipation
    Ulcerative colitis
    Crohn's disease
    Hepatitis
    Common bile duct stones
    Reflux esophagitis, esophageal dilation and other upper GI conditions
    Stomach disorders
    Pancreatitis
    Malabsorption and other nutritional problems
    Hepatology
    Metabolic disorders
    ERCP preferred but not required
    EUS preferred but not required

    This is a Service Line employed position with the vast majority of procedures being conducted in an outpatient setting. Support staff consists of front desk schedulers and LPNs. Inova offers a market competitive compensation and benefits package.

    Requirements : Board Certified in Gastroenterology or Board Eligible but scheduled to sit for Board Examinations

    Active VA license or ability to obtain unrestricted Virginia licensure
