    Day (United States of America)Obtaining the medical records and other pertinent data required for Third Party Audits. Logs audit information into computer systems.

    Job Description:

    Obtain medical records within the established record system of the hospital that are being requested by Third Party Auditors by using the appropriate computer systems and identifying the correct medical record number and account number being requested. Ensure that the pertinent information being requested is present by reviewing both paper and electronic medical records. Gather missing information from clinics and departments and/or computer systems as necessary. Notfy supervisor if additional action is necessary to obtain complete medical record documentation. For offsite reviews, copy and/or print medical record information as requested. For onsite reviews, obtain records and/or print medical record information as requested and make available to reviewer on review date(s). In either case, ensure that all information is complete prior to mailing or review. Log and update data into the appropriate computer systems as required to track medical record request activity in a timely manner. Ensure all requests are made available to the reviewer or completed and mailed to the requestor prior to the due date. For mailed copies of medical records use tracking mail option as required. Other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
