    Job Summary:
    As the head of the healthcare team, you'll deliver professional nursing care following established standards of care and procedures. Stay adaptable to changes, demonstrate quality in work habits and interactions, and treat everyone with dignity.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    The Registered Nurse exhibits leadership by:

    • Adhering to Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures and applicable laws.
    • Leading the healthcare team, assigning tasks, and showing accountability.
    • Understanding scope of practice and escalating issues when necessary.
    • Showcasing professional behavior, championing new ideas, and leading through change.
    • Communicating effectively to achieve intended outcomes.
    • Participating in problem-solving and mentoring others.
    • Prioritizing, delegating, and overseeing work assignments to ensure patient care completion.
    • Complying with regulations, policies, and standards.

    Nursing Process:

    • Developing individualized care plans reflecting assessment, implementation, and evaluation.
    • Ensuring plans include interdisciplinary collaboration, cultural needs, and appropriate care levels.
    • Engaging patients in the care planning process and revising plans as needed.
    • Monitoring patient progress, ensuring safety, and providing education.

    Documentation:

    • Ensuring accurate and timely charting reflecting nursing interventions and evaluations.
    • Using computer systems efficiently for optimal patient care.

    Clinical Outcomes:

    • Discussing patient progress with the healthcare team and making informed nursing decisions.
    • Participating in performance improvement activities.

    Workplace Safety:

    • Adhering to workplace safety principles and maintaining a safe environment.

    Patient Care Experience:

    • Providing exemplary customer service and maintaining patient confidentiality.
    • Ensuring a clean and comfortable environment and exceeding patient expectations.

    Team Commitment:

    • Being an effective team player, addressing conflicts constructively, and supporting coworkers.

    Fiscal Responsibility:

    • Minimizing overtime and optimizing resource utilization.
    Basic Qualifications:
    Experience
    • 1 year of recent full-time equivalent experience in Critical Care within the last 3 years.
    Education
    • N/A
    License, Certification, Registration
    • Registered Nurse License (California)

    • Basic Life Support

    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
