We are in search of a highly skilled and compassionate Neurology Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our private practice situated in the vibrant Bronx, New York. As a dedicated member of our team, you will collaborate closely with physicians, contributing to the delivery of comprehensive neurological care to our patients. Your responsibilities will encompass assessing, diagnosing, and managing a spectrum of neurological conditions, all while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration for optimal patient outcomes.
**Responsibilities:**
Conduct thorough patient assessments, encompassing medical history reviews, physical examinations, and detailed neurological evaluations.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including MRI, CT scans, EEG, or nerve conduction studies, to aid in precise diagnosis and treatment planning.
Formulate and execute evidence-based treatment plans for various neurological conditions such as epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and neuropathies.
Prescribe medications, perform procedures, and administer treatments in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Educate patients and families on their condition, treatment options, and preventive measures.
Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure effective symptom management and disease control.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and facilitate interdisciplinary treatment approaches.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
**Qualifications:**
Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) license and certification in the state of New York.
Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Neurology or a relevant field.
Certification as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) preferred.
Previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner in Neurology or a related field strongly desired.
In-depth knowledge of neurological conditions, diagnostic techniques, treatment modalities, and commonly used medications.
Proficiency in performing neurological examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests, and formulating treatment plans.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to work independently.
