- Must have two years of experience in a Med/Surg environment; OR,
- Must have completed a formal nurse aide course; OR,
- Must hold a current certified nurse aide registry; OR
- Must hold a current medical assistant certificate; OR
- Must be a currently enrolled in an accredited school of professional nursing and must have
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing; OR
- Must successfully complete Parkland's 8-week job specific training program.
- Previous experience as a wound care technician preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required from one of the following:
- American Heart Association
- American Red Cross Rescuer
- Military Training Network
- Current employees have a grace period until July 21st, 2023, to obtain their BLS Certification.
- Must be able to successfully complete all department assigned competencies.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff and hospital
- Must be able to document care given in the medical record.
- Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.
