    Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Mississippi VISTAs


    Our Boys & Girls Club AmeriCorps VISTA Intermediary Project will select, and place 3 VISTA Members to serve with our Jewell Rushing site and our Walthall site located in Southwest Mississippi for a full year term of service.

    VISTA Members will be coordinated by Project staff from the Boys & Girls Club of Golden Triangle.


    Member duties:

    Depending on individual placement with a host site, VISTA Members will build capacity to alleviate poverty by improving key processes and procedures to increase the overall organization's ability to serve more youth; and develop an effective communications and marketing plan in order for Club youth to receive more donor support and provide more hands-on experience through mentorship programs; and conduct research to utilize funding resources and tools to grow and diversify the organization's major gifts/fundraising/donor pipeline.

    Member Duties :

    Develop an operational strategy that will address the needs of the host site which includes improved hiring and onboarding process, facilitation, program reporting, and federal and foundation grant reporting.

    Update the current resource development strategy and implement best practices by reviewing the current fundraising programs, policies, and procedures.

    Develop an understanding of the BGC Southwest Community (youth, parents, community partners, educators, volunteers, donor population) and BGC Southwest services to establish a timeline and upkeep media content to increase community presence and media coverage.
