    Locum - Physician - Hematology Oncology Pontiac, MI

    Join a dynamic oncology and hematology practice as a temporary physician providing vital outpatient care. This role is integral to bridging a recruitment gap, ensuring continuity of exceptional patient services in a collaborative environment.

    You will deliver comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology care, participate in tumor boards, and support a dedicated team of healthcare professionals committed to patient well-being.


    Overview:


    We are seeking a dedicated Hematology-Oncology Physician for a locum assignment in Pontiac, MI, starting January 19, 2026, through July 31, 2026.

    This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a reputable outpatient clinic supported by a multidisciplinary team, including oncology nurses, medical assistants, social workers, dietitians, and nurse navigators.

    The provider will manage approximately 15-20 outpatient cases daily within a well-equipped, supportive environment utilizing Cerner EMR.

    This is an ideal role for healthcare professionals seeking flexible, impactful temporary work while enjoying the chance to work alongside experienced specialists in a thriving practice setting.


    Required Skills:
    Proven expertise in outpatient hematology and oncology care
    Ability to participate actively in tumor board discussions
    Proficient in managing hematology outpatient procedures and treatments
    Experience with Cerner EMR system
    Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
    Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient environment
    On-call availability for clinic calls as needed


    Nice to Have Skills:
    Prior experience working within a multidisciplinary oncology team
    Additional certifications in oncology or hematology
    Fluency in other languages for patient communication


    Preferred Education and Experience:
    Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
    Board certification in Hematology and Oncology highly preferred
    Minimum of 2 years outpatient clinical experience in hematology/oncology setting


    Other Requirements:
    Active medical license to practice in Michigan
    Willingness to travel to the clinic location (Mileage reimbursed up to $150 cap)
    No third-party lodging bookings; candidates should arrange their own accommodations, noting that McLaren does not reimburse taxes or third-party booking fees
    Malpractice insurance included in hourly pay rate
    Orientation provided at half the hourly rate
