    Special Education Teacher

    Location: Meredith, NH
    Position Type: Full-Time
    Start/End Date: ASAP - End of School Year
    Grade Levels: 7th, 5th, and 4th Grade

    Description:
    We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Meredith, NH. The successful candidate will work with a small group of students who have autism with cognitive challenges. These students require highly individualized programming and instruction tailored to their unique needs. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing the support and guidance necessary for these students to succeed academically and socially.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student
    • Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, life skills, and social-emotional development
    • Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet the specific needs of students with autism and cognitive challenges
    • Use evidence-based practices and interventions to support student learning and behavior
    • Collaborate with other members of the special education team, general education teachers, and related service providers
    • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and discuss any concerns or needs
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and progress toward IEP goals

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field
    • New Hampshire teaching certification in Special Education
    • Experience working with students with autism and cognitive challenges preferred
    • Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices for teaching students with special needs
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
    • Commitment to providing high-quality, individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities
