    Job Description

    Title: Shift Coach/Supervisor

    Reports To: Assistant Plant Manager

    Location: Plant Facility

    Job Purpose Summary:

    • This role oversees all aspects of production during a shift to ensure orders and production goals are met, coordinating all positions under their responsibility. They must be capable of operating and performing all functions within their area if necessary, including lab functions and testing. This position plays a crucial role in leading a team to achieve company objectives and maintain a safe working environment.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Manage inventory, product integrity, and compliance during a shift
    • Collaborate with Inventory Manager to meet changing order schedules
    • Follow work instructions for liquid and specialty sugar management
    • Troubleshoot production issues and ensure a safe work environment
    • Review and approve load documentation before shipping
    • Train and develop staff, oversee equipment maintenance, and ensure cleanliness
    • Operate forklifts and perform required product sampling and testing
    • Adhere to quality processes and sanitation procedures
    • Perform other assigned duties

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Experience in food manufacturing, preferably over five years
    • Supervisory experience in food manufacturing
    • Effective communication skills in English, Spanish proficiency preferred

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Adaptability, leadership, and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage company expectations
    • Recordkeeping and documentation skills
    • Basic understanding of laboratory equipment and quality processes
    • Knowledge of regulatory standards relevant to floor operations

    Materials and Equipment Used:

    • Forklifts and manufacturing equipment
    • Office machinery: Calculator, computer, printers, copiers, etc.

    Working Environment/Physical Demands:

    • Requires prolonged standing, bending, and climbing
    • Manual dexterity to operate equipment and machinery
    • Hearing and vision acuity for reporting and communication
    • Lifting up to 75+ pounds and exposure to chemicals and solvents

    Work Environment:

    • Conditions may vary from hot to cold, indoors or outdoors
    • Potential presence of bees due to nature of work
    • Requires adaptability, emotional stability, and effective communication
